What is the CBI full form?
The widely used full form of CBI is the “Central Bureau of Investigation”. The ministry of home affairs set up the CBI in 1963 by passing the resolution. Later it was transferred to the ministry of personal, the Special police establishment set in 1941 was also merged with the CBI.
Santhanam Committee recommended the establishment of the CBI on the prevention of Corruption (1962-1964) the CBI is neither a statuary body nor the constitutional body, it derived it power from the Delhi police establishment Act 1946.

Composition of CBI
The CBI is headed by the director. He is assisted by the special director or an additional director. The director of CBI is an Inspector-General of police and the Delhi police establishment is responsible for the administration of the organization.
The director of the CBI is provided with the security of two-year tenure by the CVC Act 2003. IPS Subodh Kumar Jaiswal from the Maharashtra cadre is the current CBI director. The training academy of the CBI is located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
