UPSC CDS 2021 Exam
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the CDS exam twice a year, CDS (1) 2021 written exam was held on the 7th of February 2021 the CDS Exam 2021 result released on 23 March 2021 as per the UPSC calendar. The qualifying candidates of the CDS stage 1 (written exam) will be called for the next stage that is Service Selection Board (SSB) and the stage 2 qualifying candidates will be sent for the medical examination. Those who will be on the final merit list will be get recommended and called for training at the Indian Military Academy (Dehradun), Officers Training Academy, Chennai (Madras), Indian Naval Academy (Ezhimala), Air Force Academy (Hyderabad) for the branch of Army, Navy, and Airforce.
The final result of the candidate is made on the basis of the stage 1 CDS written exam which is of 300 marks for the candidates of Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) and for the Officers Training Academy (OTA) candidates written exam is of 200 marks.
SSB which is of 300 marks for the IMA, INA, and AFA candidates and of 200 marks for the OTA candidates. Candidates who will clear stage 2 (SSB) have to clear the medical test to get finally selected.
After qualifying for the CDS (1) 2021 exam the candidate will get the SSB to call up letter and he has to appear in the SSB in any of the following centres as per his preference at the time of filling the application form.

How to check UPSC CDS Exam Result 2021?
To see the candidates CDS Exam Result follow these simple steps given below:
Step 1: Visit the UPSC official website.
Step 2: On the UPSC home page click on the result link.
Step 3: In the pdf format CDS 2021 result will be open.
Step 4: Search the candidate’s roll number in the result using “Ctrl+F” or one by one.
Step 5: If the roll number of the candidate is in the pdf, which means he is qualified for the SSB (stage 2) process.
Step 6: For further use, the candidate should take the printout of the result or download it.
CDS Exam Result Scorecard
After the publication of the CDS result the mark sheet or scorecard will be available on the UPSC official website within 15 days of the final result publication. For a period of 30 days, the scorecard will be available to download. The following are the information that the CDS scorecard displays:

- Sectional and overall scores

CDS exam result calculation
UPSC follows the following marking criteria for the CDS exam result:
- The paper 1 English section has 120 questions and each question is 0.83 marks so the maximum marks for paper 1 are 100 marks.
- Paper 2 General Knowledge (GK) has 120 questions and each question is 0.83 marks so the maximum marks for paper 1 are 100 marks.
- Paper 3 Elementary Mathematics have 100 questions and each question is of 1 mark so the maximum marks for paper 3 are 100 marks.
- For the wrong question, 1/3rd will be deducted which is in paper 1 and paper 2 (0.276 marks) and paper 3 (0.33 marks) will be deducted.
The formula for marks calculation
English = correct questions x 0.83 – incorrect questions x 0.276
General Knowledge (GK) = correct questions x 0.83 – incorrect questions x 0.276
Elementary Mathematics = correct questions x 1 – incorrect questions x 0.33

What to do after the release of the UPSC CDS Exam result?
After the declaration of the CDS Exam result, the candidate has to register himself within 2 weeks at the official website of the Indian Army that is joinindianarmy.nic.in and the Date and the centre selection link will be open and the candidate has to choose the date and the centre. The date and the centre will be on a first come first serve basis so select the date and centre as soon as possible.
What if the candidate fails to select the CDS date and centre?
Case 1: If the candidate is unable to register himself at the joinindianarmy.nic.in within the 2 weeks after the CDS result declaration then he will not be able to get any date.
Case 2: If the candidate fails to select the date and centre after registering at the joinindianarmy.nic.in then the date and centre will be automatically allotted to the candidate and it cannot be changed (exception special cases).
Brief of CDS SSB Process
After the CDS written result and selection of date and centre, the candidate has to appear for the SSB. The SSB interview is done in the three stages that are Psychological Test, Group Task and Personal Interview (interviewing Officer (IO) round). The candidates for the flying branch also have the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) which is the new and advanced version of the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT).
On the basis of the written exam and SSB interview, the final merit list is made and a list of recommended candidates is published on the official website of UPSC.
